Description
- The Interruption: Hercule Poirot is enjoying a quiet supper in a London coffee house when a terrified young woman approaches him. She claims she is about to be murdered, but desperately begs him notto investigate or punish her killer, insisting that once she is dead, true justice will be served.
- The Crime: Later that night, Poirot learns that three guests have been found murdered in separate rooms at the fashionable Bloxham Hotel. Each victim has a monogrammed cufflink (engraved with “PIJ”) placed inside their mouth. A note left at the front desk warns: “MAY THEY NEVER REST IN PEACE. 121. 238. 317.”
- The Investigation: Teaming up with cautious Scotland Yard detective Edward Catchpool, Poirot must untangle a twisted web of past secrets, vengeance, and a potential fourth victim being prepared by the killer.
